Biography: Lakshmi S. Kunnath serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech and Hearing at Father Muller College, Mangalore, India. She holds a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), where she is currently pursuing her doctoral studies. Her PhD research investigates the influence of language, cognition, and theory of mind on adolescents’ academic performance within the Indian context.

Her primary clinical and academic interests include dysphagia and adult communication disorders, with an emphasis on evidence-based assessment and intervention. She has authored Scopus-indexed publications, presented her work at national and international scientific forums, and contributed as a resource person for academic workshops. In her current role, she mentors postgraduate students and plays an active part in curriculum development and quality initiatives in speech and hearing sciences.

Her professional endeavors are driven by a commitment to advancing research, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and enhancing patient care outcomes.
