Title: From Concept to Action: Establishing Jordan’s Maternal Mortality Surveillance and Response System
Biography: A Jordanian Family Doctor, who graduated from the University of Jordan with a subspecialty in Women’s Health from the University of Illinois, brings over 25 years of experience in delivering comprehensive healthcare services to women and families across both public and private sectors through various technical and management roles. In addition to her work at a private women’s health clinic, she has held the position of Senior Project Management Specialist at the Health Office of USAID, where she designed and managed several multi-million-dollar health projects, including the Health Services Quality Accelerator, Health Service Delivery, and Strengthening Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS). She also served as the Country Director at Futures Group, overseeing the Health Policy Project, and acted as the Quality Assurance and Medical Advisor for SHOPS and the Private Sector Project for Women’s Health. Furthermore, she collaborated with the Jordan Health Care Accreditation Council to develop the first family planning standards for public primary health care centers in Jordan and contributed to the creation of Centers of Excellence criteria.
